| Showing is not everyone's cup of tea, but those who do take
part enjoy the camaraderie and the competition. It is a useful way of measuring your flock
against others' and the best way of learning how to improve the standard of your sheep. Long lasting friendships are formed between flock owners from all around the country - people who would never have met if it were not for coming together in the Show Ring. As well as this, it is a good shop window for your flock and brings the Jacob Sheep in front of the general public. The Woolpit Flock has been shown since 1983 and, as a result, has improved greatly over the years from exciting minor sucesses to winning frequent Championships these days. |

| Showing can really be fun, especially if not taken too seriously. A good example of this is the East of England Autumn Exhibition, which is held every year in October at the Peterborough Showground. Amongst the usual classes is a Novice Class, where new exhibitors (all ages) can try showing for the first time in a happy, informal atmosphere. | |||

| At the same event, the new 'Fancy Dress' class has caused a sensation with the public for the last two years: | |||

Year 2000 Show SuccessesWoolpit Tonibell (who came no higher than 4th as a lamb) spent the winter growing and growing - and now is the largest Jacob I have had. She has been unbeaten in the Show Ring, and made Interbreed Champion twice. |
